Curtains Have Fallen

Shadows of Darkness plague the skies,
Lost in trance death in your eyes,
hope is sublime, sincerity is gone.
Hate and Depression my generation, has dawned.

And i know, when the curtains have fallen,
you'll see this mess and know who i am.
And i know, when the last drops have fallen,
you'll see all this and surely take offence.

I'm sorry, i'm sorry i can't fix this mess,
and the chance of this changing is less and less.
And i'm sorry, i'm sorry, theres nothing i can do,
and life being perfect is far from true.

Skies have opened wide to reveal the silver eye,
Shaking the ground as everything it views burns and dies.
This eye, was formed in my dreams,
would you love me for me, or hold onto my foul deeds?

And i know, when the Curtains have fallen,
You'll see this mess and know who i am.
And i know, when the last drops have fallen,
You'll see all this and surely take offence.

I'm sorry, i'm sorry i can't fix this mess.
and the chance of this changing is less and less.
And i'm sorry, I'm sorry! Theres nothing i can do.
And life being perfect is far from true.

I could never save myself, i can't save you.
I never saw me, even when you saw through.
Falling into this dark abyss with your scent,
In the end i am drained and all of me is spent.

Just as the Creator got this started, the curtains have fallen.

Talk about a downer. Yikes. Sad though it may be, it's a very real, very frightening emotion, or rather, whirlwind of emotions. I think we've all had these feelings of inadequacy, of not quite knowing who we are, especially when we realize that something we tried so hard to hold onto isn't going to work. It's natural to fear what we don't know, but we can't allow it to destroy our future relationships and chances for happiness.
...And this song expresses that commonly felt confusion and distress with such clarity.
